| I must need a new set of ears then cuz I don't hear anything different about it musically, and Bill's singing does not sound live to me. Hey, no shrugging smilie here! All that work to get a new shrug, and none here. lol | |

| Try that bit where he sings "it's automatic watching faces I don't know, erase the tape of you". Definitely different. There are other points where it just doesn't sound as polished as the single. | |

| No, it sounds like they recorded a different version for doing playback on TV. It definitely not the same as the recorded version. It doesn't look or sound live though. | |

| We really need the like button, I'm reading through everyone's comments trying to hit like.
It definitely was a different recorded version. Sorta sounded like it was recorded live, with less mixing.

SO F**ING WHAT.
Do you guys WIN if you are right?
Virtually every freaking Euro show is playback.
This is stupid.
Is there anything you DID like?

| That's what I said, it's no big deal. It's completely normal for people to do playback on TV there. | |

| I'm just tired of everyone just jumping to criticize only. We know European shows are playback. Get used to it. | |

| It was awesome. It was exciting, their first performance in front of a non-fan audience to show their new stuff. | |

| I understand. It's a testy thing.
It isn't a big deal for me, as we know it's just how TV performances go. Plus, it doesn't take away from the fact that the guys perform these songs live at every single one of their concerts, or that they were the ones to originally record the songs.

(I miss the rotfl already.) They really did do amazing. I enjoyed this more than the Elama Lapselle performance. Very epic staging.

Is there anything you DID like? I don't think any of us here were saying anything bad about it. We all know European talk shows are playback. It's a non-issue. (at least with me)

| Since many people saw it and thought it was live while others saw it and thought it was playback I don't think anyone can be 100% sure what it was so I don't agree with "it's definitely playback or pre-recorded" comments. Not that I care if it was live or not but I don't think anyone can say for certainty what it is unless they were among the show's production team. | |

SOURCEtranslation by BKth4e/thushttp://www.loomee-tv.de/2009/09/tokio-hote...aab-vollig-neu/Tokio Hotel presented themselves totaly new by Schlag den Raab New single, new outfit and even a new language. Tokio Hotel surprised the german TV-audience by Schlag den Raab with their new single Automatic. The boys from Magdeburg had indeed grown up and had managed to reinvent themselves from sratch without loosing their own style. Even Stefan Raab liked their performance because he took his time not only to thank Bill for an absolut inspired performance, also Tom, Georg and Gustav got a warm handshake. Ja...you get it right...i felt the same as the audience. Look at the video As Matthias Opdenhövel announced at the beginning of the show Tokio Hotel, there were some negative notes from the audience. After the show, however, these sounds were completely gone. With their new Singel and certainly with the new album Tokio Hotel will provide our country a second time and still win a lot more fans than ever before. | |

| I wonder who decided they would perform Automatic instead of Automatisch. Perhaps Raab heard about the Elama Lapselle performance and wanted a world premiere of the English song since he couldn't have the German? | |

I guess I am oblivious because I heard live with some backing in the chorus. *shrugs* Anyway, not that this whole "it's playback it's not playback" isn't something I can talk about all day, but I must say the stage design was very sleek and awesome. The boxes and flashing lights were minimalist, but still very glitzy and rock-and-roll. Makes me wonder what they're tour is gonna be like.
